about

This track was recorded live at Bummerfest at Ponde Rosa, August 13, 2011 in Houston, Texas.

This is Clockpole attempting to cover "Cars" by Gary Numan. I've heard that you shouldn't play someone else's song unless you can make it your own. I think we succeeded. While Clockpole played, people were slamming into each other, jumping through windows, throwing each other through windows, forgetting the words (even though Alicia wrote them down on several pieces of paper and taped them to everything), losing their place in the song, basically normal shit for a Clockpole show.

If you care to know why the recording sounds so horrendous, I'll explain. Jeff Goodson brought his camcorder to record video of all the bands. I ripped the audio from his video. Camcorders were not designed to properly record audio of a loud, live band.

lyrics

Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live
In cars

Here in my car
I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days
In cars

Here in my car
Where the image breaks down
Will you visit me please?
If I open my door
In cars

Here in my car
I know I've started to think
About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right
In cars
